Azerbaidjan - 4x4 roadtrip from Georgia’s to Iran’s borders

Azerbaijan is a land of contrasts, where the Caspian Sea meets the Caucasus Mountains, where ancient traditions live beside modern skylines, and where every road feels like a bridge between worlds.

I crossed the country by car, moving from quiet villages to raw mountain passes, letting the landscape change without warning. One moment, the horizon was flat and golden; the next, I was climbing steep roads carved into the rugged spine of the Caucasus.

The people I met carried the warmth of a culture shaped by resilience.
Tea shared with strangers.
Stories told with hands as much as words.
A simplicity that feels like a return to something essential.

Azerbaijan isn’t a place you “visit.”
It’s a place that meets you exactly where you are, halfway between adventure and introspection.

These images are pieces of that journey:
long drives, wide-open spaces, unexpected kindness, and the quiet sense of freedom that only comes from the road.
