Mongolia - Nomads of the North: A Journey to the Dukha
Imagine, just for a moment, embarking on a truly authentic journey : a raw, untamed road trip across a land untouched by tourism, where every inhabitant carries the rugged resilience of a modern-day Mike Horn.
Wherever you stand, you are wrapped in the endless silence of the steppe. Horses roam like verses of poetry scattered across the horizon, living freely, guided only by instinct, much like every soul in Mongolia.
After a 30-hour drive through remote lands on a Russian van, and a full day horseback ride along hidden mountain trails near the Russian border, you arrive at a world preserved outside of time.
Here, with gentle shyness, the Dukha people welcome you.
This nomadic community of reindeer herders lives far from civilization, sustained by resourcefulness, tradition, and an unbreakable bond with nature.
This encounter, I truly hope, may change your life forever.
These are the photographs from my journey.
Invited by the travel agency NOMADTRAVEL, I had the honor of discovering Mongolia to create a visual reportage of this extraordinary world.
